If this sounds familiar

You’re not failing.
You’re full.

Modern motherhood asks more of the nervous system than it was built for. The work isn’t to do more — it’s to come back home to yourself.

You haven’t had a thought to yourself since breakfast.

You’re snapping at the people you love most, then crying in the bathroom.

Your nervous system is humming at a frequency that only you can hear.

You miss who you were — and don’t quite recognise who you’ve become.

What changes

A different kind of quiet.

  • Wired and tired by 8pmSettled in your body by sundown
  • Reactive on autopilotPresent, even on the hard days
  • Carrying it all, aloneHeld in a circle of mothers who get it
  • Self-care as another to-doCare that actually metabolises

The Mothers’ Circle.

Twelve mothers. One room. No phones, no fixing, no pressure to be wise or well. Just a guided practice, a pot of tea, and the kind of honest conversation that loosens something in your chest.

About Akilah

I built this for the version of me who couldn’t find it.

I’m Akilah — a Greenwich mother to a small boy born last autumn, a wife, and a solicitor by day (Cambridge, magic-circle trained, still in the room for the difficult conversations). Like many of you, I was plate spinning to maintain the order and stability that was once sustainable. Until it became unsustainable.

What helped me come back to myself was much smaller than I expected — two minutes of conscious breathing at the kitchen sink, a walk on the heath before anyone was awake, a real conversation. This is the practice that came out of that: mindfulness without the mysticism, curated around childcare, for women who think for a living. If that’s you, there’s a space here with your name on it whenever you’re ready.
